HOW DO I CONTROL THE HEAT?
BASICS
- The system needs oxygen for the coal/briquettes to burn optimally. The upper and lower ventilation slide allows you to control the supply of oxygen in the OUTDOORCHEF charcoal kettle barbecue.
CONTROLLING THE TEMPERATURE
- Open both ventilation slides and fresh oxygen will get in from below. The effect of this draught makes the coal/briquettes burn and glow more quickly and thus increases the temperature in the system.
- Reduce the flow of oxygen by making the ventilation holes smaller. The lower inflow of oxygen will slow down the burning process. The temperature in the system is reduced.
TIP
- If you want to smother the coals after barbecuing, place the lid on top and close all of the ventilation holes. Do not use any water!
NOTE
- When you light the barbecue, both ventilation holes must be completely open in order to create an optimal draught effect.
